The Project
The goal of the ‘king of herring China’ project is to introduce the finest Norwegian herring to China. The quality of ‘seafood from Norway’ is well known in China. Due to modern production methods, high quality herring filets can be packed in consumer packages directly after catch, and frozen to retain freshness. Ready to eat after thawing.
The products can be delivered under ‘private label’ with the desired label.
A preliminary project has shown that these products can be easily adapted to the Chinese cuisine. Chinese chefs have made wonderful dishes with the herring in Norway in 2023. The dishes were tested by Chinese citizens living in Norway, they were delighted.
Now it is time to present the products in China. We hope that Chinese companies will be interested to import frozen high quality herring products from Norway.

This project is the first step to introduce high quality herring from Norway to China. The project is sponsored by Norwegian herring companies, the herring cooperation, and Innovation Norway.
